Brandan Gravitt, with The Brides Assistant. They were married at the Cathedral of Christ the King, in Lexington, KY. It was an AMAZINGLY beautiful wedding. It was at this wedding I met the most amazing woman! Kristy's mother, Valerie, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer some time ago. She really wanted to see and enjoy Kristy & Dave's wedding. And she did!

Since Kristy married Dave, a die-hard NY Jets fan, she thought she would get into a little team spirit herself.

Kristy had the most GORGEOUS veil I have ever seen!

A couple of new things....

Since we are on the subject of new things I wanted to share with you guys some information about boudoir sessions. Boudoir sessions are really a way to empower yourself (and give the significant other a little something special as well).

Most people choose to have a bitty-boudoir book made (a 4x6 hard cover layflat album with strong sturdy pages) which are perfect to keep tucked away in a drawer, but you can have prints or a canvas made as well.

Also, a great big change.....Courtney Lambert Photography will soon be courtney {e} photography. Jon and I were married over the Fourth of July weekend in Fernandina Beach, FL. It was beautiful (but VERY HOT). Keep your eyes peeled for the official name change....it's coming very soon!

Devan & Jason

I went to this gorgeous, family filled wedding in Danville, KY.  We had a blast! I thought I would tease Devan and Jason with just a few pictures of their details before they leave for their honeymoon. 

It was quite a drive for us, but we enjoyed ourselves and got to work the the amazing Brandan from The Bride's Assistant in Lexington. She kept everything (including their bubble send off....YAY!!!) running super smoothly. The reception was at the Danville Community Arts Center and the backdrop for the cake cutting? A GOLD SARCOPHAGUS.......How amazing are these two? Then, Jason serenaded Devan on the piano, so sweet!

I would also like to put a little bug in your ear about a mini-guide for brides that I am writing. It explains the different types of choices you have for photography on your wedding day, as well as explaining why it costs so darn much to get your wedding portraits done. So, STAY TUNED for that, it should be out in early June. I'll also be getting together a list of what I carry to a wedding normally (we'll call it the, "What's in my bag?" sessions") This will also be the place for those of you who have questions about WHY I use certain things that I do to just go ahead and ask your questions.

Parent Albums and DVDs

Today I got really bored since I can't drive yet (boo) and set up my new lighting (yay) and took some pics of the sample parent album I made just a few weeks ago. It is so cute and would make a perfect thank you for parents after the wedding. It's just small enough (5x5) to fit neatly into a purse, yet it's just as cool as the bride & groom album. The pages on this one are varnish finished as well, to keep the pages from getting fingerprints all over. Each album also comes in it's own little protective plastic case.

I also bought some hot new DVDs, for the clients who buy digital negatives. I am a big fan of baroque designs, but see what you think.

LPC Portrait Project #1

I am a member of the Louisville Photography Collective and whenever possible, like to participate in the contests and projects. This project we were paired up with a partner (selected randomly) and to just take a portrait....that's it. My partner was Rob, who has accompanied me on shoots as a member of NILMDTS. He is a very compassionate, fun, and friendly guy. We wanted to go do something different so we took our portraits over in Indiana. I chose for him a view of the Louisville skyline (foggy that day), which I then used the Totally Rad Old Skool action by the Boutwells on.  He had me in a tree, which turned out some awesome pics . We had so much fun and I can't wait to do round #2

A Christmas Wedding

Yesterday I had the pleasure of photographing Laura & Ryan. Ryan is in the Army and dressed out for his post-Christmas wedding to his sweetheart Laura. When Ryan's mom told me they were photogenic, it was an understatement. They are a gorgeous couple and I wish them much luck in the future. I am including the one that I just had to work on the day after, as a teaser. You will DEFINITELY see more from these guys in the next week or so.
